Some of Julie's thoughts on things

On the Chrysler -- Mercedes Benz merger: (added 12/4/98):
Some call them DaimlerChrysler. They'll always be Chrysler Benz to me!

On the Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball team (added 2/98):
Yeeeehah, I say! It is such a joy and a thrill to see women's basketball on this level. When I was in college in the early 80's, I was in the Pep Band at Tennessee. There was no problem getting folks to attend the men's basketball games, but we were actually *required* to attend 1/2 of the women's games, to get a passing grade! Why? No one, including myself, wanted to go watch the boring ladies games! Nowadays, the women are outdrawing the men in attendance on many occasions. As a big time tomboy, I'm envious that I didn't have opportunities like the young women have today, but I'm also thrilled that girls have their own role models, and can aspire to full college sport scholarships like men always have been able to. Oh, to be 20 years younger! :)

  On Jesus: (added 7/97)
He is timeless. He created time! Therefore, if there is a time in my life in which there are painful memories or occurrences, I can see Him in my mind's eye, invite Him into the memory, and have Him heal that pain. His soothing presence reforms the memory in my mind. I still remember the instance, but His calm, peace and love replace the chaos, fear and anger. This concept of Jesus' timelessness was learned at a Pastoral Care Ministries conference this summer in Wheaton, IL, lead by Leanne Payne. This is one of the coolest things I've learned about Jesus.

  Update: 02/16/01:
YEEEEEEEHAH! All Dodge Front Row at Daytona!
Update: 11/12/99:
Yeeeeehah! It's finally, finally happened! Dodge is BACK! Yeeeehah! Can you tell I'm excited??? YES! Evernham and Petty! How could I ask for more, except to have all the Christian drivers I follow bail to Dodge? Let's see Gordon, Jarrett, Kyle, Bobby and Terry, and Mark Martin in the Intrepid! Yeeeeeeehah! :)

On Dodge's participation in the Craftsman Truck Races: (added 6/97)

It is a usual thing now that 4 to 5 Dodges run amongst the 35-or-so trucks in these races. And Dodge usually finishes 2 or 3 trucks in the top 15, which is a pretty good overall percentage compared to the numerous Chevys and Fords. And the Dodge trucks just look a lot tougher than those Brand X models! It won't be long before we see an Intrepid in the Winston Cup! Since Ford can have their 4-door Taurus family car in NASCAR (which I think is completely ridiculous - and just more bending of the rules), then Chrysler should be able to run their 4-door family cars. If they want to.
