I was wanting to improve the air flow on my 2003 Cranberry GT, and I wanted an AirAid system or a K&N FIPK, but they weren't out for the PT Turbo as of Christmas '02. My husband did some checking and found that the AirMax cold air system was supposed to be available in January '03, and not wanting to wait on the AirAid system, we decided on the AirMax. The AirMax system, by Street & Performance Electronics, Inc., comes with a red powder-coated metal housing, a K&N air filter and clamp, two 3/8" bolt and nuts and four 3/8" washers. We ordered ours in early December, 2002 from Summit Racing for ~$250 and it was finally delivered on 02/22/03. The AirMax unit does not seem to be available from Summit Racing anymore. You can try searching the 'Net from Google.com to find retailers that sell the AirMax for PT Turbos. It took us about 45 minutes to install the AirMax system.
The instructions that came with our AirMax were pretty useless (your mileage may vary). They were obviously not written for a PT Turbo, as references were made to the need to disconnect the PVC breather (located on the opposite side of the engine from the AirMax) and also to disconnect the air temperature sensor plug, neither of which was necessary for installation. Just do things in a logical fashion and you'll do fine. The pictures on the instructions were useless, too, because they were too small.
